Globe Scientific offers high quality scintillation vials in three sizes to satisfy a range of applications. They are designed to provide consistently low background counts and are suitable for low activity counting. The smaller sizes are very economical to use since they require smaller quantities of solvent.
The 20mL Scintillation Vial is made of high density polyethylene and utilizes a polypropylene, linerless screw cap. It has multiple uses in scintillation counting, gamma counting, chromatography, sample storage and culturing. Because of its leak-tight cap it is also commonly used to store and transport histological specimens in 10% formalin. It has a 16mm opening and overall dimensions of 61.4mm high x 26.5mm O.D., with the cap attached. (Without the cap, the dimensions are 58.5mm high x 26.5 O.D.) This scintillation vial provides a high degree of resistance to organic solvents and sufficient translucence so that reagent levels can be easily seen. The unique thread design of the closure permits the vial to be sealed tight with an easy 1/4 turn and with minimum pressure. They are packaged in bulk cases of 1000 with screw caps packaged separately in the same box.
The 6.5mL Scintillation Vial is produced from high density polyethylene and utilizes a unique push-on screw cap made of polypropylene. The vials are securely sealed by simply snapping the caps on. The cap is conveniently removed with an easy 1/4 turn to the left. This shoulderless and seamless vial has a full width opening of 12.5mm. The overall dimensions (O.D. x height) are 16 x 57mm with the cap attached, and 16 x 55.2mm without the cap. They are packaged in bulk cases of 1000 with screw caps packaged separately in the same box.
The 4mL Polyethylene Scintillation Vial uses a full turn polyethylene screw cap. The vial itself measures 13.8 x 52mm (O.D. x height). With the cap on, it measures 13.8 x 53mm. This small volume scintillation vial is the most economical size to use because it requires the least amount of solvent. They are packaged in bulk cases of 2000 with screw caps packaged separately in the same box.
